How DynastyBaller Drafts Work.

The startup builds the foundation. The yearly rookie drafts keep it alive forever.

Startup Draft

Veterans and rookies in ONE combined startup. Third Round Reversal (3RR) format. Slow draft on Sleeper with 8-hour pick timer and overnight pause. No startup pick trading, but startup slot swaps are allowed.

Year 2+ Rookie Drafts

4-round rookie-only drafts each offseason starting 2027 (year 2 of every league). Same slow draft format: 8-hour pick timer, overnight pause. This is how dynasty stays dynasty without burning out the managers.

Future Pick Trading

Future rookie picks ARE tradable after the startup draft. Both managers must be paid through the season connected to the traded pick. Trading a 2027 pick requires both managers paid through 2027.

The future pick rule exists for league stability. It prevents the classic dynasty failure: someone trades all future picks, loads up on veterans, wins now, then disappears. DynastyBaller is built for the long haul.
